Orange readying own brand Android handset

Currently codenamed Project JAL the Orange own branded handset is currently in production and is set to be a budget offering, and the “own-brand” handset from networks is becoming somewhat of a trend now amongst the mobile phones users of the UK. Vodafone have got one, the Vodafone 845 and T-mobile also have their own branded Pulse mini.

The new handset from Orange will be a slim tablet-style hand-set with no keyboard and a 3MP camera and it will run the latest version of Android 2.1. The device will be packed with Orange’s own services like maps, messenger and of course the app-store. As well as all this there is full connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Contact has been made with Orange about the actual existence of the handset and as of yet they have neither confirmed nor denied it, but there will no doubt be more news as and when from Orange about thgis handset and various cheap mobile phones.

As expected there has been no word from Orange over a UK release date for the Project JAL handset but from what we can gather the handset will be coming on both Contract and Pay-as-you-go mobile phone deals, so you can expect a price between £100-£150 and with the recent release of the new iPhone4 Orange certainly won’t be short of custom in the foreseeable future!

Mazuma Mobile Phone Recycling Program – Recycle Old Phones

The mobile phone is a landmark technological device, I struggle to think of any other appliance that has become so adapted and intertwined in our lives as the mobile phone now is. Mobile search is on the rise and people communicate constantly with the integration of Facebook and Twitter into their mobile phone rituals.  Just picture that over 150 million people in the USA have at least one mobile phone handset and nearly a quarter have at least 2, that’s very startling if you think about it for a moment. The UK is worse with most people having at least 3 phones! This means that if on average phones are replaced every 18 months and most people just store their old phone that they will build up at home.  When you think that to clear the clutter some people will just throw there really old mobile phones out and when these old phones go into the landfills the metals in them will release toxins and cause damage and pollution to the environment.

A way around this is to embrace mobile phone recycling programs such as the Mazuma Mobile recycling program. Mazuma mobile take the idea of recycling phones further by giving you money as an incentive to recycle. You can find out how much you can get for your phone by using the price comparison tables on a mobile phone recycling comparison website like recyclemobilephones.co.uk. You can input the information about your phone, and can easily find out how much you will get paid by using the site. To summarise the Mazuma Mobiles scheme to recycle your old phones for cash is a great way to help protect the planet and earn some extra cash whilst at the same time tidying and removing the clutter from your home.
