Internet Turns 40 on 2nd September 2009

Internet has become so popular than before. It was first connected on September 2, 1969, when 20 people gathered in Kleinrock’s lab at the University of California, Los Angles, to watch as two computes passed meaningless test data through 15 foot gray cable.

That was the beginning of the fledgling Arpanet network. The 1970s brought email and the TCP/IP communication protocols, which allowed multiple networks to connect – and formed the internet. The internet didn’t become a household word until the 90s, though after the British physicist, Tim Berners-Lee, invented the web, a subnet of the internet that makes it easier to link resources.

Currently we know how popular the Internet has become than earlier. Millions of people are using internet every day. The numbers are increasing day by day. Currently China country has the highest internet users followed by USA, Japan, Indian and Brazil. There are many reasons of these increasing numbers in Internet users.

Internet is very vast. Much kind of activities happen in the internet. People basically browse the Internet for searching information. Information is generally provided in the form of websites. There is a lot of innovation taking place. YouTube video sites ranked number in the terms of people visiting. Facebook social networking sites too are very famous. In terms of search engine, Google is the number 1. If you ever needed to find any kind of information, just Google it you are sure to find it.

Although Internet is providing has a lot of recourses like finding information, sharing information, medium of doing business, mode of communication but you can’t ignore the danger path that lies in the Internet. A variety of factors are to be blamed. Spam and hacking attacks force network operators to erect security firewalls. Authoritarian regimes block access to many sites and services within their borders.

Anyway just be cautious and acknowledge yourself with the things that may harm you and try to avoid them as much as possible and Enjoy using Internet for own benefit. Let’s us wish that Internet becomes more better and useful after this 40 years.
